Detailed Report
The Embassy of India in Riyadh celebrated the conclusion of Pravasi Parichay 2025 through a grand musical drama titled “Gita Mahotsav,” which beautifully illustrated the enduring teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Held from October 28 to November 3, the week-long cultural festival was marked by vibrant showcases representing India's rich and diverse heritage, including classical dance, music, and culinary arts from various states.
This finale event featured a poignant performance by the talented female students of Vaidehi Nritha Vidyalayam, who articulated the spiritual messages of the Gita through expressive dance and music. The festival began with a heartfelt congratulatory video from Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, and was attended by prominent cultural figures such as Smt. Pratibha Prahlad, a Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee.
Ambassador Dr Suhel Ajaz Khan highlighted that the event celebrates the deep cultural and spiritual connections between India's diaspora and its civilization, promoting universal values of harmony, duty, and selflessness found in the Gita. This celebration aligns with the broader International Gita Mahotsav to be held in Kurukshetra, Haryana, further linking India’s cultural diplomacy efforts.
Since its inception in 2023, Pravasi Parichay has become a significant platform for the Indian community in Saudi Arabia to express and preserve their cultural essence, creating meaningful community participation and engagement with India’s historic traditions.
