Times Music has purchased two popular Indian regional record labels—Symphony Recording Co and ARC Musicq. Symphony, a leader in Tamil devotional music with over 350 audio and 100 video albums, has six YouTube channels with nearly 2 billion views. ARC Musicq, a Kannada music label, has been featured in over 75% of A-grade movie soundtracks since its inception in 1985 and also has significant YouTube dominance.
These acquisitions are the first major move for Times Music following its agreement with Primary Wave Music in 2023 to boost its regional catalog and international footprint. The company will leverage the growing popularity of regional music to expand its presence in India's rapidly growing digital streaming market.
