The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new online application portal, revolutionizing the exam registration process for millions of aspirants across India. Effective May 28, 2025, all candidates must now apply through the revamped system at upsconline.nic.in, as the old One Time Registration (OTR) module has been discontinued.

The new portal is structured into four sections:

•  Account Creation

•  Universal Registration

•  Common Application Form (CAF)

•  Examination Section

The first three sections—Account Creation, Universal Registration, and CAF—contain details common to all UPSC exams and can be filled or updated anytime, allowing candidates to prepare in advance and avoid last-minute rush. The fourth section, Examination, is specific to each exam and includes notices, application forms, and status updates, which must be filled within the notification period.

All applicants are required to register afresh and upload their documents on the new portal, regardless of previous OTR registration. UPSC strongly recommends using an Aadhaar card for seamless verification and authentication, making it a permanent ID record for all future exams.

The portal debuts with applications for CDS Exam-II, 2025 and NDA & NA-II, 2025. Step-by-step instructions and user guides are available on every page to ensure a smooth application experience.
