In a rapid push, Uttar Pradesh has digitised 41 million electoral forms in just 20 days as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. With only 10 days left, 110 million forms remain to be digitised, pressing booth-level officers to meet the December 4 deadline to ensure complete and updated voter lists.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh is progressing swiftly, with 41 million enumeration forms digitised since the exercise began on November 4. This represents nearly 27% of the total forms, with 110 million yet to be processed as the deadline of December 4 approaches.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have distributed 99.6% of the forms across Uttar Pradesh’s 75 districts and are digitising them at an accelerated pace. The state’s Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa emphasized the importance of voters filling out and submitting forms on time to have their names included in the draft electoral rolls published on December 9.
The revision process will remove outdated entries, duplicates, deceased persons, and migrants while adding newly eligible voters. Following the publication of the draft list, claim and objection hearings will take place from December 9 to January 8, with the final list scheduled for February 7.
