Varun Beverages Ltd, one of the world’s largest bottlers for PepsiCo, has officially commenced commercial production at its new Buxar facility in Bihar. The company announced that the plant began operations on May 1, 2025, starting the manufacture of carbonated soft drinks, juice-based beverages, and packaged drinking water. This milestone marks a significant expansion of Varun Beverages’ manufacturing footprint in eastern India, aiming to strengthen supply chains and meet rising consumer demand in the region.
The Buxar facility is part of Varun Beverages’ broader strategy to enhance production capacity through greenfield investments. The company has invested heavily over the past two years, with a 45% increase in production capacity during the 2024 season compared to 2022, and substantial capital allocated towards new plants in key locations, including Buxar. This expansion is expected to support sustained volume growth and operational efficiency, reinforcing Varun Beverages’ position in the competitive beverage market.
The new plant will help optimize logistics, reduce lead times, and improve product availability for both carbonated and non-carbonated drinks. With this development, Varun Beverages continues to deliver on its growth strategy while contributing to regional economic development.
