The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, to celebrate Mahashivratri. It is the first trading holiday in the 2025 calendar year. All equity, derivatives, and commodity segments' trading will be halted for the day. Banks in 15 states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka will also be closed. Normal trading will resume on Thursday, February 27. Investors and traders are requested to schedule their transactions accordingly. This closure follows a bearish session on Monday, when both Sensex and Nifty declined more than 1%, with IT stocks leading the way.
