Wings Across India: IndiGo Unveils Direct Delhi Flights to Northeast and South

India's largest airline IndiGo has revealed a major expansion of its domestic network with the launch of direct flights between Delhi and Jorhat (Assam) and Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) this September. The move is a sign of IndiGo's bid to improve regional connectivity, boost tourism, and drive economic growth across Indian cities.

 

There will be daily non-stop flights from Delhi to Tiruchirappalli from September 16, 2025, and a four-weekly direct flight will link Delhi with Jorhat from September 20, 2025. The new flights will offer low fares and easy travel for business and leisure travelers, and new opportunities for cultural interaction and business.

 

IndiGo's Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra stated, "We are pleased to introduce special direct flights from Delhi to Jorhat and Tiruchirappalli, once again demonstrating our commitment to domestic growth and connecting the nation. The daily flights will make the best efforts to provide economical travel to experience the rich culture, spirituality, and natural beauty these destinations have to offer."

 

Key Highlights:

The new connections will enhance tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, with Jorhat being famous for tea cultivation and proximity to Kaziranga National Park, and Tiruchirappalli being famous for history, education, and industrial development. IndiGo is further building its network by adding the Tiruchirappalli-Jaffna (Sri Lanka) sector in March 2025.

 

With these strategic acquisitions, IndiGo is poised to make traveling from North, Northeast, and South India easier than ever.
