What Is E-Aadhaar?

E-Aadhaar is the digitally signed version of your physical Aadhaar card, issued by UIDAI. It holds equal legal validity and is accessible anytime, anywhere. Available in two formats—standard and masked—it includes your Aadhaar number, photo, and demographic details.

Key Features:

- QR code for instant verification

- Reflects latest biometric and demographic updates

- Can be printed, emailed, or stored on mobile devices

- Legally valid across government and financial services

- Masked version shows only last four digits of Aadhaar number for privacy

How to Download E-Aadhaar:

- Visit UIDAI’s official website (uidai.gov.in)

- Navigate to the My Aadhaar tab and select Download Aadhaar

- Enter your Aadhaar number, Enrolment ID (EID), or Virtual ID (VID)

- Submit the captcha code and request OTP

- Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number

- Choose between standard or masked version and download the PDF

Password Format to Open PDF:

To access your downloaded E-Aadhaar, enter an 8-character password:

- First four letters of your name in uppercase (as per Aadhaar)

- Followed by your birth year in YYYY format

Example: If your name is Neha Sharma and birth year is 1992, your password is NEHA1992

Why It Matters:

E-Aadhaar ensures secure, on-demand access to your identity credentials. With growing digital integration across services, it’s a must-have for seamless verification and benefits access.
