Zee5 will send shivers down your spine with its latest Bengali mini-series, 'Bibhishan', which is being streamed exclusively on June 27. The psychological thriller promises to leave the clichéd shiny stuff behind, and take the audience into a world of secrets, lies, and suspense in the fictional town of Bolagarh, Bengal's Birbhum district.

Key Highlights
Premiere Date: The sole streaming of 'Bibhishan' will start on Zee5 from June 27, 2025, as part of the platform's new focus on language-first and regional storytelling.

Plot Tease: Sub-Inspector Bidhan Sen (Soham Majumdar) is hurled into chaos following an unusual burglary, a beheaded body, and a chilling murder—each, seemingly, connected by a sinister conspiracy. The series is non-linear, with disjointed clues and suspicious characters, leaving audiences in the dark at every turn.

Cast & Crew: Soham Majumdar plays the tormented cop, with Debchandrima Singha Roy as a mysterious one. The cast includes Amit Saha, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Pradip Dhar, Sanjib Sarkar, Katha Nandi, Subrata Guha Roy, Aloke Sanyal, and Arpita De. The series is directed and produced by Raja Chanda, with Prameet A Ghosh's story and haunting music by Rathijit Bhattacharjee.

Strategic Push: 'Bibhishan' is one of the aggressive forays of Zee5 into local content, following the introduction of new subscription packs based on language and a rebranding move to drive greater participation in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Viewer Experience: The series is designed to unsettle, with the mood and background music that "gets under your skin." Zee5 invites viewers to "watch it alone if you dare.".

Why It Matters
Since nearly half of the viewership for Zee5 now comes from non-Hindi content, 'Bibhishan' is proof of the seriousness of the platform towards authentic, localized content and intent to own the region-specific OTT space.
