Odisha Empowers Women: CM Majhi Unveils 'Lakhpati Didi Sahayika Yojana'

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi of Odisha has announced the 'Lakhpati Didi Sahayika Yojana', a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering community support staff. This scheme, part of the broader Lakhpati Didi program, seeks to elevate the economic status of women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The yojana promises enhanced financial support and training for SHG members, with the goal of helping them achieve an annual household income of ₹1 lakh or more. While the announcement has been met with enthusiasm, some women have expressed concerns about potential discrimination in its implementation.
