PepsiCo India & The Social Lab Power Up Urban Cleanliness: ‘Tidy Trails’ Scales Sustainable Waste Solutions Across Four Cities

In a significant step towards urban sustainability, PepsiCo India has teamed up with The Social Lab (TSL) to broaden its flagship plastic waste management initiative, ‘Tidy Trails’, across four key Indian cities—New Delhi, Pune, Agra, and Guwahati. This expansion marks a noteworthy advancement in the nation’s battle against plastic pollution.

Tidy Trails was launched with the goal of promoting a circular economy. It’s a community-focused program that collaborates with local governments, market associations, shopkeepers, and residents to encourage responsible practices in plastic waste collection, sorting, and recycling. The recent launches in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk and Pune’s FC College Road, along with its ongoing success in Agra and Guwahati, highlight PepsiCo India’s dedication to creating cleaner, greener urban spaces.

Key Highlights:

Strategic Expansion: Tidy Trails is now active in four cities, with new initiatives in New Delhi and Pune, and an expanded presence in Agra and Guwahati, building on the program’s established success.

Community Engagement: This initiative unites municipal authorities, shopkeepers, and community members to inspire positive changes in plastic waste management through door-to-door campaigns, market events, and engaging activities.

Innovative Collection: Special mobile vans are deployed to collect post-consumer plastic waste daily from local businesses, averaging 274 kg in Agra and 386 kg in Guwahati.

Circular Solutions: The collected plastic is transformed into useful items like benches and chairs, which are then placed in public areas—turning waste into valuable community resources and constant reminders of sustainability.

Tangible Impact: Since its launch, Tidy Trails has successfully gathered over 68,000 kg of plastic waste and reached more than 190,000 people, with strong involvement from local businesses and residents.
