The Pixel Watch 5 prototype was recovered by a scuba diver and later shared by Randy Pitchford, co-founder of Gearbox Software, on X. The watch was identified by clear markings on its back reading “Google Pixel Watch 5.” Despite being submerged, it displayed the correct time in low-power mode, showing its resilience.

Design And Build

The prototype features a perfectly circular case with slim bezels and a glossy black display. It was paired with a white perforated silicone sport strap, designed for breathability and comfort. The watch is expected to come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, similar to the Pixel Watch 4.

Performance Expectations

Reports suggest the Pixel Watch 5 will replace Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 with a custom Google Tensor chip designed for wearables. This promises better power efficiency, improved AI integration, and enhanced health tracking. The smartwatch is expected to run Wear OS 7 with deeper Gemini AI features.
