PM Applauds Jainism’s Enduring Legacy: A Pillar of India’s Spiritual Fabric

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the central position of Jainism in giving India its identity, emphasizing its tenets as solutions to global problems like terrorism and protection of the environment. At the Navkar Mahamantra Divas function in New Delhi, Modi emphasized Jainism's tenets, such as non-violence and non-absolutism, as essential in spreading peace and harmony. He also praised Jain literature as the "backbone of India's intellectual grandeur" and valued the government's effort to preserve Jain heritage by digitizing old texts and proclaiming Pali and Prakrit as classical languages.

 

Modi came barefoot to the event, demonstrating humility and respect for Jain culture. The Navkar Mahamantra Divas, which was organized by JITO, saw participation from over 108 countries, spreading harmony and spiritual awakening.
