PM Modi launches 'Mission Mausam' to enhance India's weather and earthquake preparedness

The prime minister launched 'Mission Mausam' on January 14, 2025. This is a holistic effort to promote India's weather surveillance and earthquake warning capabilities. He was launching it for the 150th anniversary of the India Meteorological Department and spoke about the urgent need to develop early warning systems for earthquakes to avert potential disasters. 'Mission Mausam' is an effort to leverage cutting-edge technologies, including high-resolution atmospheric observations, next-generation radars, and satellites, to enhance the nation's disaster preparedness and resilience.
