Polyplex USA Begins Trial Runs for $124 Million BOPET Film and PET Resin Expansion

Polyplex Corporation Ltd's subsidiary, Polyplex (USA) LLC, has initiated trial runs for its newly commissioned BOPET thin film line and expanded PET resin plant in the United States. The brownfield expansion adds 50,000 MT p.a. of BOPET film capacity, bringing the total US capacity to 81,000 MT p.a. The PET resin plant's capacity has increased from 58,000 MT p.a. to 86,000 MT p.a. through debottlenecking. The total capital expenditure for these projects is approximately $124 million, funded through internal accruals and borrowings. This expansion positions Polyplex (USA) as the largest and most cost-competitive BOPET thin film producer in the US, with commercial production expected to commence soon.
