Powering Progress: PM Modi Unveils ₹1.08 Lakh Crore Development Push in Rajasthan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch a massive ₹1.08 lakh crore development package in Banswara, Rajasthan, marking a transformative moment for the region’s infrastructure, energy, and public services. The announcement comes ahead of his visit on September 25, reinforcing the government’s focus on inclusive growth and regional upliftment.
Major Infrastructure and Energy Projects
The centrepiece is the ₹42,000 crore Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project with a 2,800 MW capacity, aimed at bolstering India’s clean energy goals
A 590 MW renewable energy initiative in Bikaner worth ₹8,500 crore and 1,400 MW of solar projects, including the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi, will be inaugurated
Decentralised solar plants under PM KUSUM-C scheme (895 MW) valued at ₹3,132 crore will support rural electrification
Transmission infrastructure will be expanded with 15.5 GW of new lines and substations across five districts, costing ₹13,183 crore
Connectivity and Public Services
Road projects worth ₹1,758 crore will span Barmer, Ajmer, Beawar, Dungarpur, Banswara, Rajsamand, and Udaipur
Two Vande Bharat trains and the Udaipur-Chandigarh Express will be flagged off virtually
Drinking water schemes worth ₹5,884 crore will benefit 11 districts
Irrigation works including Isarda Dam and Battisanala project total ₹2,365 crore
Urban upgrades in Didwana-Kuchaman and Jhunjhunu will receive ₹226 crore
A ₹140 crore IT and e-Governance Centre and a 250-bed hospital in Bharatpur are also part of the rollout
