PTC Industries’ Aerolloy Commissions India’s First Advanced VIM Facility for Superalloys, Marking a New Era in Aerospace Manufacturing

In a landmark development for India’s aerospace and defense manufacturing sector, PTC Industries Ltd., through its wholly owned subsidiary Aerolloy Technologies, has commissioned the country’s first private Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) facility dedicated to producing high-performance superalloys. The newly commissioned VIM facility is designed to produce superalloys with exceptional purity, homogeneity, and mechanical strength—qualities essential for aerospace, defense, and high-performance industrial applications. Operating under vacuum conditions, the VIM process eliminates gaseous impurities and prevents oxidation during melting, resulting in defect-free ingots with superior metallurgical integrity.

 

This facility complements Aerolloy’s earlier milestone: the commissioning of India’s first private Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) furnace, which enabled the domestic production of aerospace-grade titanium alloy ingots2.
