A rare Indian giant flying squirrel was recently captured on camera gliding between trees in the Pench Tiger Reserve, igniting excitement across social media platforms. The footage, shot at the Flying Squirrel Eco Camp in the reserve's Rukhad Buffer Range, showcases the elusive nocturnal creature's graceful aerial maneuvers. Indian Forest Service officer Shivakumar Gangal shared the video, drawing attention to India's diverse wildlife. This sighting is particularly significant as the species has faced declining numbers in some regions, with a study in Gujarat reporting reduced encounters.
