Record Corporate Profits Soar, But Worker Wages Stagnate: The Economic Survey 2025 Exposes a Growing Divide

The Economic Survey 2025 highlights a significant disparity in India’s corporate sector, revealing that while corporate profits have surged to a 15-year high, employee wages have stagnated. The survey, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, shows profits increased by 22.3% in FY24, yet employment growth was a mere 1.5%. This trend raises concerns about income inequality and its potential to dampen consumer demand, ultimately threatening economic growth. Experts emphasize the need for a fair distribution of income between capital and labor to sustain long-term economic stability.
