Robotic Soldiers In Future Warfare: Ex-DRDO Chief Predicts AI-Driven Armies

Dr G Satheesh Reddy, ex-Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has stated that robotic soldiers are no longer a distant concept but an inevitable reality. Speaking to NDTV, he explained that global militaries are rapidly investing in AI-driven technologies that will transform battlefield operations.  

According to him, robotic soldiers will enhance efficiency, reduce human casualties, and provide strategic advantages in high-risk zones. India’s defense research is already exploring humanoid robots capable of reconnaissance, logistics, and combat support. These advancements are expected to redefine military preparedness and deterrence strategies in the coming decades.  

His remarks underline India’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies into its defense framework, ensuring readiness for conflicts where unmanned and autonomous systems will dominate.
