Seafarer salaries have increased globally, with senior officers seeing 10-30% raises, junior officers 6-15%, and ratings 6-15%, according to Danica’s latest survey. Over 80% of crew managers identified salary as the main driver for job switches, while retention rates improved in one-third of companies. The survey highlights a competitive labor market driven by a shortage of skilled seafarers and improved financial conditions for shipowners. Henrik Jensen, Danica CEO, noted that rising wages are reshaping recruitment strategies across the industry.
