Sky-High Devotion: Prayagraj Airport's Record-Breaking Maha Kumbh Surge

The Prayagraj Airport has seen record air traffic for the Maha Kumbh 2025, experiencing more than 2,000 flights and 100 business jets. The airport normally deals with 16 flights per day, but for Maha Kumbh 2025, it had a sevenfold rise to more than 100 flights per day. A record 24,512 passengers passed through 236 flights on February 21. The growth came in the form of trips by dignitaries, stars, and industry moguls, with the airport even receiving its first international flight in 93 years. All this has established Prayagraj as one of the pivotal centers of India's spiritual tourism triangle along with Varanasi and Ayodhya.
