Southern Derby Thriller: RCB Triumphs Over CSK as Bhuvi Shines in IPL 2025

The Southern Derby lived up to its hype as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a commanding 50-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk in IPL 2025. RCB’s batting was spearheaded by captain Rajat Patidar’s fiery 51 off 31 balls, supported by Phil Salt’s quick start and Tim David’s late fireworks. The team posted a formidable total of 196/7.

RCB’s bowlers, led by Josh Hazlewood (3 wickets) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, dismantled CSK’s top order early. Despite valiant efforts from Rachin Ravindra (41) and MS Dhoni (30*), CSK fell short at 146/8. This win marked RCB’s first victory at Chepauk since IPL 2008.
