Steel Surge: India Launches ₹20,000 Crore Expansion to Transform Bokaro Plant into a Production Powerhouse

Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy has announced a transformative Rs 20,000 crore expansion plan for the Bokaro Steel Plant, aiming to boost its production capacity from 5.25 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 7.55 MTPA. This significant investment will not only enhance steel production but also create 2,500 permanent and 10,000 indirect jobs, aligning with India's vision of self-reliance in the steel sector. The project includes the construction of a new 4,500 cubic meter blast furnace and advanced facilities, reinforcing the commitment to achieving a 300 MTPA steel industry by 2030.
