Facility Details

The plant will be situated in the Vemgal Industrial Area, two hours from Bengaluru, where TASL has other advanced manufacturing facilities.
TASL has taken on lease 740,000 square feet for the assembly, manufacturing, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities.
The FAL will undertake integration of major components, avionics, mission systems, electrical and hydraulic circuits, dynamic components, and engine installation. It will also provide testing and delivery of the H125 helicopters.

Wider Aerospace Ecosystem

This helicopter campus comes after Tata's previous collaboration with Airbus to establish a C295 military aircraft assembly plant in Vadodara, Gujarat, which is India's first private-sector Final Assembly Line for military aircraft.
The Vadodara plant will make 40 out of 56 C295 aircraft for the Indian Air Force, with more than 75% indigenous content, and is likely to catalyze further aerospace investments and employment generation.

Future Outlook

The Tata-Airbus partnership is set to move India faster towards the development of indigenous civil and defense aircraft, with the government looking to position India as a world aviation hub.
The FAL for the helicopter is set to be in operation within 24 months, and the initial 'Made in India' H125 helicopters are to be delivered by 2026.
