Tata Electronics Acquires 60% Stake in Pegatron's India Unit to Expand iPhone Manufacturing

Tata Electronics has acquired a controlling 60% stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited, the Taiwanese firm's local arm operating an iPhone manufacturing plant near Chennai. This strategic move strengthens Tata's position as a key Apple supplier in the rapidly growing Indian market. The acquisition aligns with Apple's strategy to diversify its supply chain beyond China amid geopolitical tensions. Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed. This marks Tata's third iPhone manufacturing facility in India, following the takeover of Wistron's plant in Karnataka last year. The company plans to integrate teams and rebrand Pegatron Technology India to reflect the new ownership structure.
