Tata Motors Initiates Hydrogen Fuelled Truck Trials in India

Tata Motors, in association with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), has commenced a pioneering pilot project for hydrogen fuelled heavy trucks in India. The 12-18 month trial as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission will be conducted on three major routes: Jamshedpur-Kalinganagar, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, and Mumbai-Pune. About 15 hydrogen internal combustion engine powered trucks featuring Tata's Prima H.55S model will be placed on the road. This project will evaluate the business feasibility of hydrogen technology for long-distance trucking and assist in the development of refueling infrastructure needed. The project is a major milestone towards green transportation in India, with Tata Motors taking the lead in adopting green hydrogen for the commercial vehicle industry.
