Tata Power's Green Revolution: ₹30,000 Crore Boost for Assam's Renewable Future

Tata Power Company Ltd has signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam government, committing to invest a whopping ₹30,000 crore in renewable energy projects in the state. The ambitious project will set up 5,000 MW of solar, wind, and battery storage capacity, a huge step towards Assam's clean energy revolution.

The deal, signed at the Advantage Assam summit, also aims to increase rooftop solar projects, generating an estimated 3,000 jobs along the way. The move aligns with Tata Power's plan to increase its renewable portfolio and the state's ambition to become energy self-sufficient.

Tata Power CEO Dr. Praveer Sinha highlighted the project's capability to revolutionize Assam's energy sector along with creating more jobs and driving economic development locally. The investment will be made in phases within the next 5-7 years, and Tata Power will utilize its experience in mega-scale renewable projects to fuel Assam's sustainable growth.
