Tech Giants Hit Hard as Wi-Fi Spectrum Allocation Plan Shelved

A major blow for tech majors Meta and Google has come from the Department of Telecommunications in India, which decided to stall delicensing the 6 GHz spectrum for Wi-Fi use. The decision will delay improvement in the quality of Wi-Fi, especially for applications that need higher bandwidths, and the availability of next-generation devices. The move has raised industry leaders' concerns that it would stifle innovation and competitiveness in India's digital landscape, as other countries are embracing this spectrum for enhanced connectivity.
