Generative AI has become the go-to for Indian companies, with 98% of leaders setting it as a priority for adoption in 2025. Nevertheless, there remains a considerable skills gap, says a recent LinkedIn report. The research indicates that 54% of HR professionals find it difficult to hire candidates who fit the job requirements, with technical and soft skills proving to be the largest obstacle. Firms are turning to more strategic hiring, and 55% of recruiters would only consider individuals who qualify with at least 80% of the job specification. To help bridge this void, 84% of HR professionals are working on AI upskilling and 82% on soft skills training. LinkedIn is launching AI-driven tools that can automate recruitment processes, with 64% of HR professionals thinking that the tools can boost efficiency. As India progresses in AI adoption, companies need to make sure their workforce keeps pace with technology for long-term success.
