The Festival of Unity: How Holi Brings India Together in a Splash of Colours

Holi 2025, which falls on March 14, is a colorful canvas of different traditions throughout India. With different names like Dol Purnima in West Bengal, Phakuwa in Assam, and Dola in Odisha, Holi is a celebration of the victory of good over evil and the onset of spring. The festivities start with Holika Dahan on March 13, in which bonfires represent the immolation of evil spirits. The following day, Rangwali Holi, is a colorful celebration of music and traditional food such as gujiyas and thandai. Holi is not regional, uniting and forgiving communities. Its rich cultural values are evident in its numerous regional celebrations, making it one of the most beloved festivals of India.
