The Market Never Sleeps: Nasdaq Unveils 24-Hour Trading Plan

Nasdaq will add 24-hour trading on its New York exchange to tap the growing worldwide demand for U.S. equities. The expansion is designed to make it easier for global traders in various time zones to access the market, increasing trading volume and market liquidity. The rollout is slated for the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Nasdaq follows the likes of Cboe Global Markets and Intercontinental Exchange in moving toward longer trading hours.
