Vedanta Powers Up With Record Aluminium, Zinc; Energy And Steel Output Lose Steam
Mumbai-based Vedanta Limited announced its production release for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved record highs in aluminium, alumina, zinc, pig iron, copper cathodes, and ferro chrome, but faced challenges in oil & gas and steel output.
Aluminium And Alumina Surge
Vedanta achieved its highest-ever alumina production at 2,916 kt, up 48% year-on-year, and aluminium output at 2,456 kt, up 1% YoY. Operational efficiencies at Jharsuguda and BALCO plants supported the gains.
Zinc India Delivers Record Output
Mined metal production rose to 1,114 kt, up 2% YoY, while refined zinc output hit 851 kt, up 3% YoY. Silver production for the year stood at 627 tonnes, down 9% YoY despite a strong Q4 rebound.
Iron Ore, Steel And Oil & Gas Decline
Iron ore sales fell 19% YoY to 4.4 mn tonnes, while steel finished production dropped 3% YoY to 1,301 kt. Oil & gas output slipped 16% YoY to 87.2 kboepd, impacted by lower Rajasthan and Ravva field production.
