Vodafone Idea (Vi) Announces 5G Launch In Mumbai, Plans Expansion To Delhi And Bengaluru By April

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has revealed its plans to launch 5G services in Mumbai by March 2025, followed by expansion to Delhi, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, and Patna in April 2025. This announcement comes as Vi rapidly expands its 4G coverage, reaching 1.07 billion people by December 2024. The company has secured approximately Rs 26,000 crore in fresh equity capital over the past 10 months and plans to invest in network expansion. Vi's CEO, Akshaya Moondra, stated that the phased rollout of 5G services is underway, targeting key geographies. This move positions Vi to compete more effectively in the Indian telecom market, where 5G is becoming a critical driver of growth and innovation.
