Commemoration At Phuntsokling
Phuntsokling, established in 1963 and home to around 1,267 Tibetan refugees, marked the day with the singing of the national anthems of Tibet and India. The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) delivered speeches paying tribute to those who gave their lives during the uprising in Lhasa.
Community Participation
The Regional Tibetan Women’s Association and the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress organized a peaceful solidarity march from the settlement office to Chandragiri market. Residents joined in prayers and cultural programs, reinforcing the settlement’s identity as “The Land of Happiness and Plenty.”
