West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal has been appointed the state’s new Chief Secretary, according to official reports published on May 11, 2026. The 1990-batch IAS officer was serving as the Chief Electoral Officer and ex-officio Additional Chief Secretary in the Home and Hill Affairs (Election) Department before the appointment.
