Zurich Insurance Balances Cautious Expansion with Strong Growth in Asia

Zurich Insurance Group reiterates its growth focus in India and Indonesia with a cautious expansion strategy. Contrary to the CEO's "no plans" announcement, recent moves speak otherwise. The firm took a 70% stake in Kotak General Insurance for $666 million, a major foray into India's growing insurance sector. Zurich concluded the 2019 takeover of Adira Insurance in Indonesia. All of these steps support the aim by Zurich to profit from the rising markets and, at the same time, offsetting risks. In 2024, its earnings were $7.75 billion with 5% improvement over operating profits. All the segments of business improved robustly.
