Accelerating Aspirations: Mercedes-Benz Bets Big on India’s Growing Appetite for Luxury Cars

In a big step to tap rising private consumption in tier 2 and 3 cities, Mercedes-Benz India unveiled its growth plans today. The luxury vehicle maker has launched new state-of-the-art facilities in Faridabad and Agra with an aim to fortify its foothold in high-priority markets such as Kanpur and Varanasi. The expansion follows a record-breaking sales year during which 19,565 units were sold in 2024, up by 12% compared to the previous year.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, pointed out the potential of Agra as a priority market with its luxury customer base and increasing demand for premium vehicles. The company will also be investing ₹450 crore over the next three years to enhance its customer experience and expand its network, which already has more than 100 luxury touchpoints across more than 50 cities.

Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz also intends to launch a minimum of eight new models in 2025, including the highly anticipated AMG GLE 53 Coupe. This strategic expansion is a testament to the brand's resolve to capitalize on India's growing luxury car market as customer demand continues to increase.
