Airport Corridor Of Kolkata Metro Gridlocked Due To Traffic Clearance Issues

The Orange Line of the Kolkata Metro, linking the city's southern end to the airport, is running behind schedule because of traffic clearance problems in the Chingrighata section of EM Bypass. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has built a diversion road but does not have the requisite permission for diverting traffic. Despite several meetings with officials, including the police commissioner, the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) has not been issued. Metro Railway officials and Sujit Bose, Minister of West Bengal, recently visited the spot to sort out issues and take clearance to resume the work.
