Amit Shah Launches 'Bharatpol' Portal to Enhance International Investigations

On January 7, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the 'Bharatpol' portal, an important initiative for improving the connectivity of India's law enforcement agencies with Interpol. The portal will enable all Indian police forces to request international assistance without a hitch, leading to the easy issuance of Red Notices and enhancing real-time information sharing. Shah said this is a new chapter in fighting transnational crime and will locate fugitives who have absconded abroad. The launching event reflected the commitment of the government to modernize the techniques of investigation and enhance international cooperation.
