Backing India’s Next Phase Of Industrial Growth

India’s industrial sector has shown remarkable resilience, with growth rates surpassing global averages. The latest budget builds on this momentum, introducing initiatives to scale up production, foster innovation, and empower SMEs, ensuring that India’s next phase of industrial growth is both sustainable and globally competitive.  

Manufacturing Momentum  

Industrial GVA grew 7% in FY 2025–26, while manufacturing output rose 8.1% in December 2025. Electronics, motor vehicles, and transport equipment led the surge, reflecting strong domestic demand and policy-driven support.  

Strategic Sectors Push  

Seven sectors have been prioritized: biopharma, semiconductors, electronics, rare earths, chemicals, capital goods, textiles, and sports goods. Programs like Biopharma SHAKTI, India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, and rare earth corridors highlight India’s deep manufacturing ambitions.  

SME And MSME Support  

A ₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund and additional ₹2,000 crore for the Self-Reliant India Fund aim to strengthen liquidity and create “Champion MSMEs,” driving grassroots industrial growth.  

Global Competitiveness  

By reducing import dependency and investing in technology creation, India is transitioning from assembly-led growth to deep manufacturing, enhancing export competitiveness and supporting its $35 trillion economy vision by 2047.
