Bharti Airtel Awards Multibillion 5G Extension Deal to Nokia

Bharti Airtel has announced a multiyear, multibillion extension deal with Nokia for 4G and 5G equipment across key Indian cities and states. The agreement includes deploying Nokia's 5G AirScale portfolio of base stations, baseband units, and radios, as well as modernizing Airtel's existing 4G network. This strategic partnership aims to futureproof Airtel's network infrastructure and provide customers with an enhanced user experience. The deal follows Airtel's previous major 5G deployment orders in August 2022 and is expected to revive capital expenditure in India's telecom market. This collaboration reinforces Nokia's long-standing relationship with Bharti Airtel and strengthens its footprint in India.
