The Bharti family, through its investment arm Indian Continent Investment Ltd (ICIL), is set to increase its stake in Airtel Africa by up to 5%. This strategic move, announced on February 21, 2025, follows recent share purchases totaling £848,283 by ICIL, closely associated with Shravin Bharti Mittal. The decision underscores the Bharti family's confidence in Airtel Africa's growth potential and its commitment to the African telecommunications market. This stake increase will further solidify the family's control over Airtel Africa, which stood at approximately 66% in 2019. The move comes as Airtel Africa continues to expand its presence across the continent, capitalizing on the region's growing digital economy.
