Bihar’s Highway Revolution: Cabinet Approves ₹3,712 Crore Patna-Sasaram Corridor

The Union Cabinet has approved a transformative ₹3,712 crore project to construct a 120-km-long four-lane highway connecting Patna, Arrah, and Sasaram. Developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), this greenfield and brownfield corridor aims to decongest state highways and reduce travel time from 3-4 hours to a seamless journey.

The highway will integrate with key national highways (NH-19, NH-319, NH-922), connect major transport hubs like Patna’s airports and railway stations, and generate 48 lakh man-days of employment. This project aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, promising enhanced freight movement, socio-economic growth, and regional connectivity between Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, and Patna.
