Biogas Sector Secures Major Investment Boost at RenewX 2025

The biogas industry has received a significant financial push with investment commitments exceeding Rs 200 crore at the recently concluded RenewX 2025 exhibition in Chennai. Organized by Informa Markets, the three-day event, held at the Chennai Trade Centre from April 23 to 25, brought together key stakeholders from the bioenergy, solar, wind, and energy management sectors.  

The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) announced that multiple memorandums of understanding were signed, paving the way for new collaborations and advancements in bioenergy solutions. According to IBA Chairman Gaurav Kedia, the event marked a milestone for the biogas sector in southern India, fostering deeper engagement and interest in sustainable energy alternatives.  

IBA President A R Shukla emphasized the importance of technology, grassroots innovation, and policy alignment in shaping India's energy future. He noted that with the right regulatory and financial support, bioenergy could play a transformative role in the country's renewable energy landscape.  

Founded in 2011 and revitalized in 2015, the Indian Biogas Association has been actively promoting bioenergy solutions across India. The organization collaborates with international bodies such as the German Biogas Association to advocate for sustainable waste management and clean energy generation through biogas.
