Bridging Economies: Singapore and India Forge New Opportunities Together

Singapore aims for collaborative ties as India's economy grows exponentially. It feels the country holds ground for a greater bilateral collaboration. In an address to the Indian business community, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong underscored how India and Singapore can collaborate across a range of sectors, such as bilateral trade, fintech, and skills training. He highlighted the longstanding ties between Singapore and India, bolstered by the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA), which has significantly facilitated trade and investment. Lee urged Indian businesses to leverage these opportunities, as many have successfully established operations in Singapore to serve regional markets. With Singapore's strategic position as a gateway to Asia, both nations are well placed to further deepen their economic relationship, thus facilitating mutual growth and innovation in emerging sectors such as healthcare, mental well-being and green economies.
