Bumper-to-Bumper Blues: The Cities Where Time Stands Still

In a recent report from TomTom, London has once again snagged the title of the world's most congested city, with drivers spending an average of 37 minutes and 20 seconds just to cover 10 kilometers. The study shows that European cities are dominating the list of the worst traffic hotspots, taking up five of the top ten spots. Following London, Dublin comes in second, while Toronto, Milan, and Lima complete the top five. India's tech hubs, Bengaluru and Pune, also make an appearance, highlighting how rapid urbanization is affecting traffic flow. Bucharest, Manila and Brussels completes the Top 10 at the bottom 3, with Brussels being the Tenth, with an average time of 27 minutes to cover a distance of 10 kilometres. The report emphasizes the urgent need for sustainable transport solutions and smart traffic management systems in major urban areas around the globe. As cities deal with growing populations and more vehicles on the road, this data serves as a wake-up call for authorities to tackle urban gridlock and enhance the commuting experience.
