Can Indian Pharma Leap from "Make" to "Discover" and Lead the World?

In a call to innovation, Amitabh Kant, ex-CEO of NITI Aayog, has urged the Indian pharma industry to move from "Make in India" to "Discover in India for the world." This transformation is intended to make India a world leader in drug discovery and development. Kant stresses the requirement of state-of-the-art technology and AI integration to create India's niche in the pharma industry. As India's CRDMO market is set to touch $25 billion by 2035, the shift can strongly spur the economic development of the nation and international position in health care innovation. The shift will fit well into India's larger plans to be the hub of high-value research and development for the life sciences industry.
