Chhattisgarh's Power Surge: NTPC Injects ₹96K Crore for Clean Energy

NTPC Group has entered into several agreements with the government of Chhattisgarh to make an investment of Rs 96,000 crore in clean energy schemes. The investment is proposed for a Rs 80,000 crore 4,200 MW nuclear power plant, a Rs 5,876 crore 1,200 MW pumped hydro storage plant, and a Rs 10,000 crore renewable energy plants up to 2 GW capacity. These pacts were inked under the Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit-2025 in Raipur and seek to promote sustainable energy solutions and back India's Net Zero ambitions as well as transition to energy. The ventures would include nuclear power, pumped storage, and renewables like solar, wind, and hybrid technology and significantly improve power generation in the state.
