In a historic stride towards clean energy and sustainable maritime operations, India’s first port-based green hydrogen plant was inaugurated at V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port in Tamil Nadu by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Sarbananda Sonowal also laid foundation for a ₹35.34 crore green methanol bunkering and refuelling facility with 750 m³ capacity, enhancing the port’s role in the upcoming Coastal Green Shipping Corridor.
